Adolescents´ estimate of their own intelligence
Abstract
The aim of this investigation is to verify if the results are the same that the experts have achieved in other studies with adults and in what degree or they are different from them. The participants have been 191 students of secondary education. Of them, 86 were women, and 105 men. His socioeconomic level was average. The students were asked to estimate their own and their family intelligence. The results confirm that the women give lower estimates of their intelligence than men, especially in the mathematical and spatial intelligence. The findings are in line of actual research and are interpreted in terms of social and familial influences.
