The model of educational social change worked out in this paper consists of three stages and follows the characteristic guidelines of any process of spreading. This change is driven by the interest in obtaining higher income and prestige in exchange to a higher rate of schooling. At present, and according to such a model, Spain is between the second and third stages and will reach the third as soon as the arrithmetic means of income and prestige of the different educational levels are the same.
In this article, the author analyses change as one of the Main characteristics of our society that could turn the man into an outsider. In order to prevent it, we have to elaborate innovative educational projects of permanent education where advances of technology have to be included. Educational aims have to play an strategic part in our society, where there are so many instrumental resources. Technologies evaluation becomes, nowadays, a pressing need in order to derive profit from them and to reduce their unsuitable effects, if we want them to serve educational values.
The revista española de pedagogía is present in the leading Spanish and international databases, such as Journal Citation Reports (JCR), Scopus, JSTOR, etc. In fact, it was the first Spanish journal to appear in JCR, where 95 per cent of the journals in the Education and Educational Research category are only available in English. Consequently, since 2017, the revista española de pedagogía has also made all of its articles and book reviews available online in English.
All of the articles published in the journal since it was founded in 1943 are available on this website. Articles can be downloaded for free apart from ones from the previous year.
