The purpose of this paper is to publish the results of a formative syllabus research carried out among future primary school teachers in the subject area of mathematics. We conclude that the formative assessment of pupils is an effective part of the teaching process.
The present Spanish Educational Law (L.O.G.S.E.) takes in account the attitudes between the curricular contents that have to be taught at school. Nevertheless, neither the promotion of attitudes nor its evaluation are an easy task to be developed by educators. This is, in a major part, due because the term attitude lacks of the needed conceptual clarity.
In our opinion, the attitudinal dispositions have a correspondence with determined affective states that predispose individuals to act in the sense those states prescribe. In this way, the education of attitudes can be considered as an aspect of emotional education that has to be promoted by educators out of its appointment to any knowledges areas.

The revista española de pedagogía is present in the leading Spanish and international databases, such as Journal Citation Reports (JCR), Scopus, JSTOR, etc. In fact, it was the first Spanish journal to appear in JCR, where 95 per cent of the journals in the Education and Educational Research category are only available in English. Consequently, since 2017, the revista española de pedagogía has also made all of its articles and book reviews available online in English.
