Teachers´ leadership in educational organisations: themes for its análisis and research

The study explores the role of teacher leadership as a substantive topic for organizational analysis of schools. First, the concept of educational leadership in schools is revised. Next, is necessary to show the presence and relevance of teacher leadership as an indicator of democratic health and teaching and learning in the improvement process in schools. The relationship between leadership and teachers is explored for a new understanding of: teachers work; decision-making; professional development and organizational development. Finally we incorporate some recommendations for a research agenda.
