Ebooks

In 2016 we started a new initiative in order to provide our readers with an easy knowledge of the papers published in the revista española de pedagogía. It is to offer, free of charge, ocassionally, an ebook where there are, thematically grouped, a number of articles, between five and ten, published in the journal in recent years.

The mission of research journals in the world of education

José Antonio Ibáñez-Martín (Ed.)

2019

We finish 2019 with a free new ebook for our readers. On this occasion, we focus on research journals dedicated to education, and compile various articles related to its evolution.

José Antonio Ibáñez-Martín, Director of the revista española de pedagogía (rep), edits this work and collects two groups of contributions: the first, comprises the articles published in issue 271 of the rep, on the occasion of the international symposium organised to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the journal; the second, composed of various reflections by the Director on the evolution of education research journals over the past ten years.

In the first group of papers, appeared in September 2018, we will find the contributions of the directors of major pedagogical research journals, from Spain, the USA, the United Kingdom and Mexico, among other countries. In their articles, we will discover details about the evolution of their journals, and how they have adapted to the current forms of international evaluation of research journals (JCR, SCOPUS, etc.), sharing their experiences on their new ways of communicating and relating to authors and readers, in an increasingly competitive environment. We offer these papers in both Spanish and English versions.

In the second group, we compile the reflections published by José Antonio Ibáñez-Martín in various journals, between 2011 and 2019. The Director of the rep expresses in them his vision of the situation and principal characteristics of educational research journals, especially in regards to the situation in Spain, and, more specifically, the development of the revista española de pedagogía.

The information that appears in some of the chapters of this eBook refers to what was happening in the world at the time of their publication. Therefore, all of the chapters in this work include their original bibliographic details, which should be cited when making written reference to these works.

We hope that some of the topics that appear in this eBook — published in English as well as Spanish when the works were also published in this first language — will be of interest to readers.

Evolution and perspective of moral education

Juan Luis Fuentes (Ed.)

2018

Since 2016, the revista española de pedagogía has been periodically publishing an e-book –available for free on our website– on a current pedagogical topic, in which several articles of the journal are compiled. For this e-book, edited by Juan Luis Fuentes, we have chosen a theme as classic as emerging (Evolución y perspectivas de la educación moral) in which we include several articles on such common concept, but with different perspectives.

On this occasion, we include articles by the following authors: José Manuel Esteve Zarazaga, Antonio Bolívar, María Victoria Gordillo, Jose Antonio Ibáñez-Martín, Mª del Rosario González Martín and Juan Luis Fuentes, and finally, Pedro Ortega Ruiz.

Education and human development

This e-book, which contains six articles written some in English and some in Spanish, is called Educación y desarrollo humano. It is edited by Professor Gil Cantero of the Complutense University of Madrid, who is also a member of the Advisory Committee of the Revista Española de Pedagogía.
