Antonio Bernal Guerrero
Degree in Philosophy and Educational Sciences from the University de Sevilla and PhD in Philosophy and Educational Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, with Extraordinary Prize. Professor at the University of Seville, in the area of Theory and History of Education.
He has been visiting professor at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM, Mexico City) and the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP, Puebla, Mexico).
He has published around two hundred and fifty papers, including more than one hundred articles in accredited national and international journals. He has been Principal Investigator of more than a dozen research projects (two of them of the National Plan) and innovation projects. He directs the Pedagogical Research Group of the Person, recognised at the University of Seville.
In the first stage of his academic career, his research work was carried out in the field of pedagogical personalism, and he was one of the most prominent authors of the theoretical development of Personalised Education, promoted by Víctor García Hoz. In the last two decades, within a rethinking of new demands for the construction of an educational theory centred on the person, he has developed a substantial line of research based on the formative processes of identity, mainly projected in the study of the configuration of personal identity and in the delimitation of a new theoretical approach specified in an integral perspective of entrepreneurial education.

The revista española de pedagogía is present in the leading Spanish and international databases, such as Journal Citation Reports (JCR), Scopus, JSTOR, etc. In fact, it was the first Spanish journal to appear in JCR, where 95 per cent of the journals in the Education and Educational Research category are only available in English. Consequently, since 2017, the revista española de pedagogía has also made all of its articles and book reviews available online in English.
