Francisco Esteban Bara

Doctor in Pedagogy (2005) from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya and Doctor in Philosophy (2016) from the Universitat de Barcelona. Associate Professor in the Department of Theory and History of Education at the Universitat de Barcelona. He has also been involved in university management and policy work. These include the following: Delegate of the Rector of the Student Observatory at the Universitat de Barcelona (2016-2018) and Vice-Rector for Communication at the Universitat de Barcelona (2018-2020).

 

His main lines of research have focused on values education and character education. In recent years, he has devoted special attention to the philosophy of the university and the formation of university character.

 

His latest books include: (2016) Quo vadis, university? EDIUOC; (2018) Ética del profesorado. Herder; (2019) La Universidad light. Paidós; and (2021) Chistes de Eugenio para repensar la universidad. Penguin Random House. He has also collaborated in several joint publications, has written book chapters and has a number of articles published in indexed international scientific journals. He has been a visiting professor at several universities in Latin America and a visiting professor at the Center for Character and Citizenship at the University of Missouri-St. Louis-College of Education (USA).
