The article serves as a general framework for understanding the contents of this monographic. In this sense, we attempt to make clear some coordinates of the central idea, which is the European Space of Higher Education.
Also, we recall the main prospects of the dynamics of change imposed in light od the new paradigm in higher education, along the reasons for the emphasis on the competencies that affect the learning process.
