The article does an analysis of the complex concept of personal maturity, which is proposed as competence. The maturity would be reflected in one competent self, as structure of superior order, integrated in the personality of the subject. From a cognitive perspective, the maturity develops into determinant of widespread competences of the subject.
From this concept of maturity, we raise its pedagogic possibilities. These centres basically on the contributions, from the educational angle, to a wide approach of improvement of the cycle of the life of the human being. Antonio Bernal Guerrero.
