The efffects of bit program on learning the new ict with the down’s syndrome students PDF Print E-mail
Written by Luz F. Pérez Sánchez, M.ª Luisa Berdud Murillo y Susana Valverde Montesinos
The aim of this work was to test the efficiency of a new method (BIT) to teach to the students with Down’s Syndrome the basic elements of the new ICT and to check their effects on different cognitive and personal variables.

The sample was formed by 60 students with low or moderate mental deficiency. The results show that the BIT method, studentscentered, was effective to incorporate these students to use the new technology, promoting their social and educational integration as their integration in the labour market. The results also prove that technology by itself do not produce significant cognitive changes without a specific training. Luz F. Pérez Sánchez, M.ª Luisa Berdud Murillo y Susana Valverde Montesinos

Key Words: Educational technology, Mental deficiency, Down’s syndrome, Special education.
