The production of written texts is a constant activity in higher
education. Students, staff and researchers are constantly involved in
writing for different purposes. This paper presents the results of an
exploratory descriptive survey of academic writing programs in public
universities around the world. The main aim of the survey was to
compare the existing offer in terms of a number of formal features
—curricular insertion, admission policy and periodicity—, and constant
features —contents, activities, methodologies and evaluation—. Anna Escofet Roig, M.ª José Rubio Hurtado y Liliana Tolchinsky
